Holiday Specials from Murray and Carey

The season of holiday specials is upon us, and Stereogum reported on two that cover just about the entirety of what a person could want from a festive made-for-TV movie. Bill Murray is enlisting an all-star cast for his version of the Christmas flick, A Very Murray Christmas, including the French band Phoenix, with whom Murray is collaborating on a holiday 7”. Both the special and the record will be out December 4th.

For people who are more into Mariah, the singer is making her directorial debut with A Christmas Melody, which she is also starring in alongside Lacey Chabert, Brennan Elliott, and Kathy Najimy. Although Mariah Carey purportedly will not be singing in the special, you can look forward to seeing her in some capacity when it premiers on the Hallmark channel next month.
