This Week in Posivibes: The Chills

By

New Zealand’s The Chills just released their first album since 1996, and it’s brilliant. Coming up alongside The Clean and The Bats, The Chills are the kind of band that is incredible, important, and not as well-known as they deserve to be. Happily, the new album, Silver Bullets, is being recognized for what it is. A piece in the Guardian argues that “anyone who loves guitars, melodies and a man trying to convey his feelings with the utmost sincerity should love it,” and a reviewer on Pitchfork writes, “Combining delicate grace with ornate detailing is no easy feat, but on Silver Bullets, Phillipps manages it again and again.” Listen to the album here and buy it via Fire Records.
