Monday 1/11: Yarn 4: Unexpected brings together writers and storytellers for live, true stories this January, featuring Brianna Barrett, Donald Rose, Tonya Jone Miller, Reuben Nisenfeld, and Jenny Forrester, along with musical guests Los Dos, and hosted by Lesley Harper and Lani Jo Leigh. Tuesday 1/12: Salon Skid Row presents Christopher Rose, DeAngelo Gillispie, Lizzy Acker, and Dresden De Vera for this week’s reading. The Corner Bar, 7 p.m., free.

Wednesday 1/13: Three writers from Write Bloody Publishing come together to ring in new year. This reading will feature Mindy Nettiffe, Brian Stephen Ellis, and Anis Mojgani. Literary Arts, 6:30 p.m., free.

Ursula K. Le Guin reads from her new collection of poems, Late in the Day. Powell’s City of Books, 7:30 p.m., free.
