The Guardian compiled a sort of “where are they now?” piece for some of the UK’s iconic punks, including Steve Ignorant of Crass, Terry Chimes of The Clash, and Jordan, the fashion icon and star of Derek Jarman’s film Jubilee. Each has found a place, and a sense of peace—a welcome difference to the narrative that often describes the lives of music icons. Steve Ignorant is a lifeboatman, for instance—something that feels very right, for the singer of a band that has offered a different way of life for generations of kids who have needed it.
