This week’s theatre recommendation is Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale presented by Ragged Wing Ensemble at The Flight Deck in Oakland. Although not of Shakespeare’s best-known plays, The Winter’s Tale is a favorite among actors. Along with King Lear, Antony and Cleopatra, and The Tempest, this tale of an elderly king driven mad by sexual jealousy explores the experience of aging. Ragged Wing Ensemble uses the tiny space, a sparse cast, and limited resources to deliver a powerful experience, primal and tribal. For further information, click here.
