Clementine Creevy is a nineteen-year-old girl from Los Angeles with a vision: having a career in music in a society that “would deem that a prodigious girl can’t be in a progressive rock band while also being in complete control of its creative vision, business plan, and social messaging.”
This is how Cherry Glazerr was born. The trio (with a new lineup alongside Clem) is releasing their second album, Apocalipstick, via Secretly Canadian, showing the strength of the young musician who says, “Women work from behind their oppression. In order to make good art you need to be emotionally free and sadly, not a lot of women are able to do that. That always puts a fire under my ass.”
Cherry Glazerr’s vigorous slacker rock is powerful and earnest, bursting with energy and telling everything like it is, unafraid to mix feminism and empowerment with everyday stories about social media and relationships, and channeling the best of old style DIY and riot grrrls into one of the best millennial bands
