Saturday 5/6: The Book Cellar hosts the launch of David Berner’s newest book, October Song. 6 p.m., free.

Sunday 5/7: As always, the Uptown Poetry Slam is going down at The Green Mill. Open mic starts at 7 p.m. followed by the slam itself. $7, 21+.

Wednesday 5/10: The Poetry Foundation and Fifth Wednesday Journal host readings by Janice Harrington, Kevin Stein, Rachel Jamison Webster, and Quraysh Ali Lansana. 7 p.m., free.
