Friday 2/16: Local authors Samira Ahmed (Love, Hate & Other Filters) and Gloria Chao (American Panda) will discuss their debut novels at Women & Children First. 7 p.m., free.

Monday 2/19: Visit The Book Cellar to welcome author Colin Winnette as he discusses his new book The Job of the Wasp with Jac Jemc. 7 p.m., free.

Tuesday 2/20: The Open Door Reading Series at The Poetry Foundation continues with a reading by Chicago State University’s Tara Betts and her student Jermaine Reed, along with the University of Chicago’s Rachel Galvin, and her student Anna Wood.

Wednesday 2/21: The Book Cellar’s monthly Local Author Night returns for a reading with Sahar Mustafah, Patricia McNair, Christine Rice, and Cyn Vargas. 7 p.m., free.

Thursday 2/22: Poetry off the Shelf presents CantoMundo authors Amy Sayre Baptista, Natalie Scenters-Zapico, and Jacob Shores-Argüello. The Poetry Foundation, 7 p.m., free.

The Conversation series continues at Women & Children First with panelists Sarah Manguso, Gina Frangello, and Kiki Petrosino discussing The Body in a conversation moderated by Kim Brooks. 7:30 p.m., free.
