Spotlight: “Survivors” by Aubrey Hirsch

A friend sent me an article about a group of scientists who were trying to clone a neanderthal embryo, imagining it would make a good story. I took several stabs at writing it over the next few years, but not until I tried it as a graphic narrative did I really find the heart of the story.
