Friday 6/22: Visit City Lit Books for a conversation between Jim Elledge, author of The Boys of Fairy Town, and June Sawyers. 6:30 p.m., free.

Dana Schwartz presents her book Choose Your Own Disaster at The Book Cellar. She will be in-conversation with Max Temkin. 7 p.m., free.

Head to Women & Children First for a poetry reading celebrating Sam Herschel Wein’s chapbook, Fruit Mansion. Wein will be reading with friends and fellow poets Chen Chen, Kate Hao, and Levi Todd. 7:30 p.m., free.

Sunday 6/24: Volumes Bookcafe hosts Northwestern University’s MA/MFA June reading. Readers include faculty members Stuart Dybek, Simone Muench, and Megan Stielstra, and recent graduates Sarah Dickinson Coogan, Betsy Haberl, Carrie Muehle, and Caitlin Sellnow. 5:30 p.m., free.

Tuesday 6/26: Women & Children First hosts the launch party for Rebecca Makkai’s The Great Believers. She will be joined in conversation by Owen Keehnen. 7 p.m., free.

Thursday 6/28: Visit The Poetry Foundation for a celebration of Notorious RBG in Song, an album featuring songs composed in tribute to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Soprano Patrice Michaels, along with pianist Kuang-Hao Huang, will perform works from the album. 6 p.m., free.

Amy Willoughby-Burle, author of The Lemonade Year, and Susan Kaye Quinn, author of the Mindjack series, discuss the road to publication and the writer’s life. City Lit Books, 6:30 p.m, free.
