Spotlight: “My Dead Friend’s Favorite Book”

By

This piece is a memorial for Chelsea Faith Dolan, who died in the 2016 Oakland Ghost Ship fire. In the span of just over two years, five of my friends died young in sudden, brutal ways: out of necessity, my creative practice turned towards the exploration of grief. My dead friends are still with me in many ways, and I honor their memories and continue to spend time with them by sharing their stories through my work.
