Wednesday 2/6: The Institute of Contemporary Art will host a conversation between artist, poet, filmmaker, and activist Cecilia Vicuña, in conjunction with her exhibition “About to Happen,” and Temple University professor Jena Osman. 6 p.m. at Institute of Contemporary Art.
Moonstone Poetry will present a special student/teacher poetry reading celebrating Black History Month. The evening will feature readings by Dr. Kimmika Williams-Witherspoon and Edythe Rodriguez, with an open mic to follow. Hosted by Sean Lynch. 7 p.m. at Fergie’s Pub.
Thursday 2/7: Penn Book Center will host a poetry reading and discussion with Cecilia Vicuña and Laynie Browne, featuring a screening of Vicuña’s short film What is Poetry to You?. 6:30 p.m. at Penn Book Center.
Friday 2/8: The fifth installment of the Hopscotch Translation Series will feature a discussion of Modern Greek literature and translation with Karen Emmerich and Jacob Moe. Moderated by Mika Tsekoura. 6:30 p.m. at Penn Book Center.
Saturday 2/9: A Novel Idea on Passyunk will host an evening with Nicole Taylor, author of A Joyful Pause: 52 Ways to Love Life. 7 p.m. at A Novel Idea on Passyunk.
Monday 2/11: Painted Bride Quarterly will present an evening of poetry featuring readings by Savannah Cooper-Ramsey, Jane Satterfield, Ryan Wilson, and Ned Balbo. 7:30 p.m. at Black Sheep Pub and Restaurant.
