Debbie and I are really excited to meet Rumpus readers, writers and staff at AWP 2026 in Baltimore, from March 4-8th.
At the bookfair, you will find us at BOOTH 1240 where you can learn more about The Rumpus, what we publish, the exciting new initiatives we are launching, and the kind of writing we want to publish. There will be merch and t-shirts for sale.
To spice things up, we’re having a fun flash fiction writing contest with a prize of $1,000 and publication in The Rumpus. Books from the Roxane Gay Books imprint will also be available for sale.

On Friday, March 6, from 7 – 9:30 pm, we’re hosting The Rumpus Revel at Pitango Bakery & Cafe, 903 S Ann St. The first 80 people will get a free drink on us. There will also be free food! Excellent readings! Festivities! The lineup includes Patricia Smith, Amber Tamblyn, Mitchell Jackson, Aubrey Hirsch, Lydia Mathis, Hasret Eleby, Robbie Maakestad, Ibi Zoboi, Jasmin Benward, Annelies Zijderveld, and yours truly, Roxane Gay.
