Addie E. Citchens

Born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Addie E. Citchens graduated from Jackson State University and attended the Callaloo Workshop. Her writing has been published in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Midnight&Indigo, Mississippi Folklife Magazine, and The Oxford American. In 2023, she was noted by the American Society of Magazine editors for “A Good Samaritan,” and she is a 2025 O. Henry Award winner for her story, “That Girl.” FSG’s inaugural Writer’s Fellow, her highly-anticipated debut novel, Dominion, was released in August 2025. Dominion is the recipient of starred reviews from Kirkus, Publishers Weekly, and BookPage and was longlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize and shortlisted for the Willie Morris Award, among other honors.
