Aspen Matis is the author of the best-selling memoirs Your Blue Is Not My Blue: A Missing Person Memoir (Little A, 2020) and Girl in the Woods (HarperCollins, 2015). She is a contributing editor of The Best American Poetry, and her short-form writing has been published in the New York Times, The Atlantic, and Tin House. She is currently working on a novel.

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds. Our mostly volunteer-run magazine strives to be a platform for risk-taking voices and writing that might not find a home elsewhere.
