Brian Strang is a visual artist, poet and musician. He is the author of Are You Afraid?, Dark Adapt and Machinations (Duration Press) and Incretion (Spuyten Duyvil), and several chapbooks. His poems, translations, reviews, and essays have appeared in many journals, including Big Other, Seedings, New American Writing, the Denver Quarterly, Caliban, and (translated) in the Portuguese journal DiVersos. He was also a founding editor of 26: A Journal of Poetry and Poetics.He has been teaching writing at SFSU for over 25 years, has also taught at Merritt College, and lives in Oakland, California.
