Emily Franklin’s work has been published in the New York Times, the Boston Globe, The Forward, The Cincinnati Review, New Ohio Review, Shenandoah, Guernica, Blackbird, and The Rumpus, among other places, as well as read aloud and featured on National Public Radio, long-listed for the London Sunday Times Short Story Award and named notable by the Association of Jewish Libraries. She is author of numerous novels. Her debut poetry collection, Tell Me How You Got Here, was published February 1, 2021.

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds. Our mostly volunteer-run magazine strives to be a platform for risk-taking voices and writing that might not find a home elsewhere. We lift up new voices alongside those of more established writers our readers may already know and love. We want to bring new perspectives into the conversation that will make us all look deeper.
