Gauri Awasthi is an Indian poet and sustainability activist. An MFA graduate from McNeese State University, she has won awards from Sundress Academy For The Arts, Bread Loaf Writers Conference, Louisiana Office of Cultural Development, and Kundiman. Her writing has been published or is forthcoming in Aurora Poetry Journal, Notre Dame Review, The Wire, Buzzfeed, and others. She is currently teaching the Decolonizing Poetry Workshop with Catapult and revising Bharatanatyam.
