Jessica Goodfellow’s books are Whiteout (2017), Mendeleev’s Mandala (2015) and The Insomniac’s Weather Report (2014). Last summer she was a writer-in-residence at Denali National Park and Preserve, where she completed work on Whiteout, poetry about her uncle's death on Denali. She has work published in or forthcoming from Threepenny Review, Passages North, The Southern Review, Best New Poets, Verse Daily, Motionpoems, NPR’s The Writer’s Almanac and elsewhere.
As a white mother of biracial children myself, this book became for me an opportunity to glimpse, for a moment, the colors of the world, and of skin, as my children might.
