Her new essay collection, Make It Scream, Make It Burn, is out now from Little, Brown and Company. A National Magazine Award finalist, she has contributed to publications including the New York Times Magazine, New York Times Book Review, the Atlantic, Harper’s Magazine, Virginia Quarterly Review, and the Oxford American. She lives in Brooklyn and directs the graduate nonfiction program at Columbia University.
