South Asian American author Padma Venkatraman was born in India and lived in five countries, explored rainforests and coral reefs, and was chief scientist and the only female of color on oceanographic research vessels before becoming a full-time writer. Her latest novel, The Bridge Home, was released in February to five starred reviews (PW, Kirkus, SLJ, Booklist, SLC), is a global read aloud contender, and winner of an Earphone Award for the audiobook version.
