Parul Kapur Hinzen is a fiction writer and arts journalist. Her nonfiction has appeared in the New Yorker, the Wall Street Journal Europe, Esquire, Slate, and Guernica. Her fiction has been published in Frank, Wascana Review, Prime Number, and the anthology {Ex}tinguished & {Ex}tinct. Her first novel, Inside the Mirror, was shortlisted for the 2013 Horatio Nelson Fiction Prize. Her website is www.parulkh.com.

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds. Our mostly volunteer-run magazine strives to be a platform for risk-taking voices and writing that might not find a home elsewhere.
