T.J. Tranchell was born on Halloween in Long Beach, California, and grew up in Utah. He has been a haunted house monster, a fast food minion, a grocery store janitor, a journalist, and now teaches at Washington State University Tri-Cities. He’s published six books, including Cry Down Dark,which represented Utah on The New York Times “50 States, 50 Scares” list. He holds a Master of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts, which isn’t too bad for a high school dropout. His wife, teen son, and four cats never laugh at his dad jokes.
