Don’t be nervous about sharing. It’s what you do, and it’s wonderful. You really are a terrific writer (cartoonist? communicator? sharer? whatever – you’re gifted.)
As we grow up, we do “lose” some of what makes us who we are in our youth, whether we appreciate those qualities at the time or not. BUT if we are lucky, we have a whole lifetime during which to be ourselves in many different forms, each spectacular in our its way.
I was just reading a RS article on the formation of the Sex Pistols. It reminded me that there was a time when some people said ‘I don’t care’.. and really meant it. Destroying the house that they lived in, only to realize that there’s no place to sleep is the best!
I enjoyed this quite a lot. Something about this medium is especially suited to deeply personal wonderings and investigations and this one did it superbly.
I wish I had your talent for self expression and expressing feelings.
It does make me think about my old friends, but I can’t think too hard because I’m married.
You are really good and I am an English teacher with 20 years of teaching experience!

Yeah, what *does* happen to those disappeared people from the past? Where do they go? What a great comic, Mari. You just get more and more awesome!

(Nice side reference to the stinky blanket story)

The guy who threw himself under the BART train…wow. I find myself hurting for him, wondering about him. What an impactful detail.

Beautiful story Mari. It brought back lots of memories of Jason and Chris and long random conversations with strangers.

This one had my heart thumping and made me wonder out loud for the first time in nearly a decade, whatever happened to my Jason?
