Maureen Miller Takes On Jay-Z

By

Have you  heard Jay-Z’s “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)”? It’s a damn good track (though some take issue with Jay for swinging at certain artists while leaving other auto-tuners, read his friends, pretty much unscathed).

Fair or not, all you really need to know is that the title of the song says it all: Mr. Shawn Carter is declaring the art of running your voice through a box dead. Of course declaring something dead and something actually being dead are not one and the same.

Luckily we’ve got Maureen Miller’s hilarious parody of “D.O.A.”, “D.O.B. (Death of Baritone),” to keep us occupied while we’re waiting to see whether auto-tune lives or dies.

The best part? Not only is the parody funny, but with rhymes like “I know you like pained facial expressions, but your singles are suggesting Victorian sexual repression” it is also really, really good.
