Jenny Hagel, the filmmaker/comdienne who made the Feminist Rapper webseries (see below), released a new short comedy film online this week.
“Tech support” is about a woman who falls in love with the girl on the other end of a long tech support phone call–and what happens when she drops that call.
“Tech Support” has appeared at various film festivals and has won prizes, including:
– “Best Lesbian Short” at the Hamburg International Queer Film Festival (Germany. Yes, Germany.)
– “Audience Award” at the Pittsburgh International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival
– “Best Short Film” at the Fresno Reel Pride LGBT Film Festival
– Shortlist at the Iris Prize Festival (UK)
– It’s also scheduled to play at a bunch of movie theaters in Germany. (Who knew the Germans were so into lesbian comedy?)
Although I’m not sure this is how computers or love works, I enjoyed such double entendres as:
“You’re putting it in the wrong hole.”
and the following exchange:
Tech Support Lady: “Why did you get dumped?”
Regular Lady: “Foot fungus. [Beat.] And I never said, ‘I love you.’”

Episode 3: Professor Scott tries to get out of being mugged with some feminist discourse…and a bad-ass rap video.
