Monday 2/7: Put it to Bed, literally, at Quiet Lightning’s February Supper Club reading.  Hear readings by Townsend Walker, Andrew Paul Nelson, Alex Rieser, Liana Holmberg, Charles Kruger, Nic Alea, Andrew O. Dugas, Candice Novak, Catherine Brady, and Sam Sax, and stick around for the after party and the latest issue of sPARKLE & bLINK. $3 (seriously!) 21+, 7pm @ 657 Harrison Street.

Tuesday 2/8: The Microscopic Giant is a bi-monthly open-mic and live painting session at Space Gallery. This time around, see and hear works by Dee Allen, Jonathan Hirsch, Dylan Kelly, Edgar Cuarezma, David Young V, Red Jordan Arobateau, Aaron Lawrence, John Felix Arnold III, and Nolan Yelonek. 8:30-11:30pm @ 1141 Polk Street.

Wednesday 2/9: If you’ve been to many Rumpus events, you’ve probably already sen three-quarters of Laughter Against The Machine perform at various times.  Catch W. Kamau Bell, Hari Kondabolu, Nato Green, and Janine Brito at The New Parish in Oakland.  Tickets $12-16, 18+, 7pm @ 579 18th Street, Oakland.

Thursday 2/10: See Rumpus Books Editor, Andrew Foster Altschul, at Books Inc. Opera Plaza for the launch of his new book, Deus Ex Machina. Altschul’s novel explores the inevitable ways in which artists affect their creations, and the subjectivity of “reality” in a reality television saturated society.  7pm @ 601 Van Ness Avenue.

Friday 2/11: It’s time for another literary smack down at the Elbo Room. Literary Death Match takes over with readings by Monica Nolan (Bobby Blanchard, Lesbian Gym Teacher), Geoff Bouvier (Living Room), John Scott (, and Jennifer Solow (The Booster and The Aristobrats), being judged by Oscar Villalon, April Sinclair, and Sam Barry. Saturday 2/12: It’s Tough Love time at Amnesia.  See BANG OUT Volume X, featuring readings with a Valentine’s Day twist by Stephen Elliott, Geraldine Kim, July Westhale, Monica Regan, Maria DeLorenzo, Ezra Fox, and Kat Yoas. 21+, 7-9pm @ 853 Valencia Street.

Sunday 2/13: Viracocha starts off their second year of operation on an aggressive foot with Hostile Takeover, the latest installment of Paul Corman Roberts’ Anger Management Reading Series.
