I love this idea…If you could use any other letter writers, please let me know.

Me too! The letters and the writing may they open doors.
Brilliant. Can’t wait for my first letter.
Fantastic idea.
I’m excited to see how this develops. Can’t wait to get the first epistle.
This is very exciting. I really hope the authors offer return addresses. At least half the fun of getting letters is writing back and letting the ideas brew and evolve.
Looking forward to it. Thank you for not stopping.
I feel that someone should tweet about this, using the Tweet By Mail thing, if it’s still around. This is innovative!
awesome!!!
Beautiful idea. Thank you.
This is wonderful Stephen. I plan to write back. xx
I hope we can write letters too.
i agree with joe – return address. i’m a notorious letter writer/package-sender. dirty words for these virtual times.
Rock’n’roll. Thank you! xo
I can’t wait! I signed up today… will I miss the first one? (say no! say no!)
This is great
Start waitin’ for my first letter! Brilliant idea.
Can’t wait!
Just signed up!
(Would have been nice to have PayPal option…)
Sorry about the negative tone, but I have to ask: How does one cancel the subscription if one chooses to do so?
Super-easy. There’s a link in your email, or you come back here and login, or just send us a note to isaac AT therumpus.net.
I love to write personal letters, notes and responses. Unfortunately, I don’t get many letters in the mail. I’m so looking forward to receiving yours! Brilliant idea!
just signed up. very excited to read my first letter. i wonder how soon it will come. will it arrive the same time each month?
They come three to four times a month.
This is a very neat idea, just signed up. When can I start expecting letters? Sorry to be chomping at the bit, I guess the dang ol’ interwebs has me conditioned for instant gratification, just wondering.
Looking forward to my first letter. Great idea.
All signed up – very cool idea, can’t wait to see how it works out!
Just signed up…waiting for the first letter with baited breath!
ditto!!
Fantastic! Looking forward to something in the mail besides credit card offers, Geico ads and bills!!!
Can’t wait to receive the first letter. I miss letters! Cheers!
Being a mail artist, I get (and send) tons of letters all the time so this seems like fun.
Thank you.
Saving the Post Office…one letter at a time.
I would also like to buy a subscription for a friend. This would go to her mailing address (not billing address). Is this possible? This would be a gift. Do I need to create a new account?
Cannot wait!! What a kick-arse idea! Thank you!! 🙂
Who would have thought we’d arrive at a point in time where we pay to get letters. I love this idea. Thank you.
Wonderful Idea! I’m looking forward to my letters!
Now maybe I’ll read my mail!
Love the idea. Looking forward to my first letter.
I just subscribed for my 11 yr old daughter because she wants to be a writer and I pray this will positively influence her. One question…are the letters g rated?
I would say most letters are g rated, but we can’t dictate that to our authors.
I am pretty sure this has been addressed but now I can’t find your answer. I just signed up, is there a way to get the letters that have already gone out?
Looking forward to it. We’ll see…
My stacks of stationery just breathed a congratulating sigh. Just the idea of anticipating a letter makes me giddy with delight!
Looking forward to first letter. Would I have saved anything by subscribing for a year? I have been corresponding for years, longhand and word processed. If you need a correspondent please contact me. Erik Blomstedt
I also wanted to ask about the idea of a gift subscription (my billing address, my friend’s mailing address)…is that an option?
This is a great idea. Thanks to PUREWOW for notifying me about this. I have been writing to friends these past years and though some of them were motivated to write me back, most would respond by emails. (not exactly the form of response I wanted). Anyhow, I can’t wait to see how this pans out and if it’s fun, I will probably buy subscriptions to the friends I corresponded to who’s written me back a real letter. Thanks!
I’m standing at the mailbox.
How much nicer than getting bills or begging letters in the mail. I’m a writer myself. Will you correspond with me? Or is it a one-way street.
And I wonder, am I allowed to quote from your letters?
I am so happy that you have started this…..when I was young I had many pen pals and loved it….bringing back this format is incredible. So looking forward to beginning this.
Thank you
Jackie Brown
I’m excited to have stumbled upon this and can’t wait to recive my first letter. There’s nothing like receiving a letter in the mail from a friend. I’m wondering, is there a way to purchase a subscription for a friend–a gift subscription?
Thanks.

I’m skeptical.
So much fun! It’s especially great when I am “computer free”! Can’t wait for my first letter! Brilliant!
Just subscribed I am so excited for t
Found my way here from Richard Nordquist’s newsletter. It is exciting to think of the possibility of something in my mailbox other than wasted trees.
I am looking forward to my first letter… I do write, but I like to cut up the world even more… collage and cut and paste… so, any return addresses may get responses in color… black and white is so yesterday…
Thanks for a great idea…
This is brilliant!!! And I am so excited to get me first letter! If you guys are searching for more authors I would gladly volunteer! What a great, new and interesting way to build a community!
My little guy loves getting mail. Every trip to the mail box he’ll ask, is there something for me? Now, I will be able to say, yes! that much more. It’s nice that letters will be from people whose work we have read. I’m an ELA teacher, this is the kind of thing as a teacher we drool over for students. Naturally, as a parent, I’m all over it.
I can’t wait to receive my first letter. My friend Bunny told me about this and it sounds like such a great 19th century idea. Love it.
Thanks, Stephen! Got it for my eight-year-old.
Now I have a reason to check my mailbox! Awesome.
Can’t wait to see what this is all about!
Please, please send me Mathew’s letter for the week!!!!
Loved his first one.
I hope my registration for Letters for Kids worked properly. It’s confusing because I changed my user information to my child’s name, so I don’t know if that means my daughter is going to receive adult letters. I would be more comfortable if there was a separate field clearly specifying the request for children letters. Thanks!
VERY excited for my daughter to receive these author letters! To her authors are (way) cooler than Justin Bieber…and she’s 14! YEA!!! Thank you for this incredibly fun gig.
I’m thrilled at any endeavor to keep the art of letter writing alive. I’ve been writing letters to friends and family since I could first shape the curves of my pen on paper.
Cheers mates! Thank you.
