Wait a minute, wait a minute, Dan. I’m pretty sure the numeral names were the same in Latin and Greek. So the word “octopus” isn’t mixing Latin and Greek, the Romans and Greeks already did that for us. Octopus, octopi, both check out Latin-wise.
