I’m to be his guide in the mountains of Kirkegaard, W. says. His sherpa. I’m to carry his things. What should he bring? His learning, W. says. His years of study in the philosophy of religion. He’ll instruct me as we climb, W. says. He’ll point things out, and when he gets tired, I can give him a piggy-back.
That’s an excerpt from Lars Iyer’s Exodus, the final addition to his deeply funny trilogy about two philosophy professors, guerrilla academics, badminton, and gin. This week, the UK-based Iyer will be in New York and Boston giving readings; you can click here for his complete schedule (which includes tonight’s Franklin Park Reading Series in Brooklyn).
We’ll also be featuring an interview with Iyer in the very near-future, so be sure to check back!
