Thursday 5/9: Fiamma Montezemolo & Josh Kun are at City Lights for the release of Tijuana Dreaming: Life and Art at the Global Border, a collection of original and translated pieces comprising an “unprecedented introduction to the arts, culture, politics, and economics of contemporary Tijuana.” With readings by Heriberto Yepez, Tarek Elhaik, and Donna Conwell. Friday 5/10: The Roxie’s widely celebrated annual festival, I Wake Up Dreaming, opens tonight. Check here for ten days and thirty films’s worth of rare Noir.
Saturday 5/11: The Yerba Buena Gardens Festival celebrates Asian Improv Arts’ 25 years of Asian American artists in the Bay, with performances by musician Francis Wong, dance by Lenora Lee, and spoken word by Genny Lim. Free, 3pm.
