Sunday 6/23: Sumarr Reading Series presents Sumarr II, an afternoon of poetry and prose with readings by Evan Chavez, Elizabeth Hall, Andrew Wessels, Ashley Farmer and Matias Viegener. Live music from Green Symmetry and DJ C.Hem. 3 p.m. at The Concord Space.
Monday 6/24: Open Mic Night offers you a chance to hear work from new authors, as well as an opportunity to read your own. Signups start at 7:45, readings begin at 8:00 p.m. at The Last Bookstore.
Tuesday 6/25: Iris Smyles presents her debut novel, Iris Has Free Time. 7:30 p.m. at Stories Books and Cafe.
Wednesday 6/26: Literary Death Match is having their 22nd Los Angeles engagement. Readers Andres du Bouchet, Iris Smyles, Douglas Kearney, and Anna David will be judged by Ron Carlson, Maribeth Monroe, and an as-yet unnamed third judge. Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Hammer Museum. Free event, but seating is limited.
Thursday 6/27: Rhapsodomancy presents Poets & Writers, Inc. Connecting Cultures Reading, featuring Ashaki Jackson, Noriko Nakada, and Patrick O’Neil. 7:30 p.m. at Beyond Baroque.
Friday 6/28: Celebrate the release of Ryan Wilson’s new book, Spiral Bound Brother, with special guests Ben Loory, Dennis Cruz, and Amelia Gray. 7:30 p.m. at the Echo Park Film Center. $5 gets you in the door, $15 gets you the book and in the door.
