ENVER GJOKAJ
★★★★★ (4 out of 5)
Hello, and welcome to my week-by-week review of everything in the world. Today I am reviewing Enver Gjokaj.
Enver Gjokaj is the name of a fake person who claims to be an actor. One of his most notable roles was on the show Dollhouse, starring alongside other actors such as Eliza Dushku, Fran Kranz, Tahmoh Penikett, and Dichen Lachman. With such highly improbable names, clearly none of these people are real. If you’re going to invent fake people, give them more realistic sounding names.
“Enver” displays an uncanny ability to mimic other personalities and even voices. He’s so good at it I feel uncomfortable. It’s as if he can become anyone. But if he’s everyone, then who is he?
My best guess is that he is actually a computer generated person. Special effects are so good these days it’s hard to tell reality from fiction. I watched a TV show recently that had real live dragons in it. At least I assumed they were real because I trusted technology. That’s the last time I do that. Someone explained to me that dragons are imaginary and I felt so stupid. I’m not going to make that same mistake with “Enver.”
There is another man who guys by the name Demir who looks EXACTLY like Enver. According to the internet he and “Enver” are twins. Sure they are. It seems much more likely Demir (or whatever his name is) probably posed for the computer generated image of “Enver,” like that guy in Max Headroom.
I’m beginning to wonder if anyone on TV or the internet is real. I have seen two celebrities in real life – Frank Fontaine and Betty Grable –so I know they’re real at least. Until I see “Enver” in person I can’t verify his existence.
That being said, if he does somehow turn out to be real, I’d like to be his friend. He seems like a very nice and talented fellow.
However, I wrote to “Enver” on Twitter.com to ask him some questions and he never responded. Which is exactly how a fake person would respond.
Please join me next week when I’ll be reviewing Pudding Pops.
