THE SKY
★★★★★ (3 out of 5)
Hello, and welcome to my week-by-week review of everything in the world. Today I am reviewing the sky.
Some of the best things happen in the sky. The best thing I ever saw in the sky was two birds that flew into each other. One of them died and I was sad about that but the crash was just so unexpected I had to laugh. They were just such clumsy birds. I think one of them was a dove.
When you think of the sky, you probably picture it as a big blue thing. Scientists have never solved the puzzle of why the sky is blue but they have solved the puzzle of why the sky is up top, and not down on the ground. I forget the answer.
As much fun and wonder as the sky can provide, it’s also a dangerous place. There’s lightning, turbulence, UFOs, and probably new things we haven’t even discovered yet. Everyone talks about all the discoveries yet to be found in the depths of the ocean because so much of it is uncharted. What about all the parts of the sky we’ve never been to? Has anybody ever looked up for Atlantis? I doubt it.
The sky is the part that protects us from space. At the same time it also makes getting to space a lot harder. If we didn’t have a sky, you could open the window of a skyscraper (or spacescraper) and jump right into space. That would be neat and then it wouldn’t be only astronauts who get to go.
The weird thing about the sky is that when you’re above it in space, you can’t even see it. All you see is the ground. It’s the only thing I know of that’s invisible from one side but not from the other. It’s like a one way mirror that is transparent from both sides.
Please join me next week when I’ll be reviewing Ted Wilson (a different one).
