Her debut collection of short stories Safe as Houses received The 2012 Iowa Short Fiction Award and was named an Outstanding Collection by The Story Prize. She teaches in the Creative Writing Department at NYU and in the low-residency MFA program at IAIA (Institute of American Indian Arts).
