Accepting his induction, Steve Miller took advantage of the platform to share some suggestions he has for the organization. Publicly, he said “I encourage you to keep expanding your vision, to be more inclusive of women,” and to work more actively on expanding music programs in schools. Then, off the stage, Miller added some criticisms of the organization’s treatment of its artists: apparently, Miller’s wife could get a ticket, but entrance for anyone else—including his band members’ families—would cost $10,000 a piece. He’s not alone in expressing issue with the Hall of Fame: NWA, who was also inducted, chose not to perform based on their experience. Read more about the criticisms here and via okayplayer and watch clips of Miller’s induction after the jump.
