Then visit Women & Children First to celebrate the launch of Fail Better by Beyza Ozer and I Am Heavy w/ Feeling by Alexis Pope and Joshua Young. This event will also feature special guest Jenny Boully. 7:30 p.m., free.

Saturday 1/21: If you’re joining the Women’s March on Chicago, Women & Children First is hosting a meet-up with coffee, donuts, and sign-making materials. 8 a.m., free.

Sunday 1/22: As always, the Uptown Poetry Slam is going down at The Green Mill. Open mic starts at 7 p.m. followed by the slam itself. $7, 21+.

Wednesday 1/25: Poetry Night at Unabridged Bookstore! Hear from Lauren Hilger, Rumpus Essays Editor Ruben Quesada, Abigail Zimmer, and Helene Achanzar. 7 p.m., free.

Poetry off the Shelf at The Poetry Foundation welcomes Robin Coste Lewis! 7 p.m., free.

Thursday 1/26: The Conversation hosts its inaugural event at Women & Children First! Join Aleksandar Hemon, Roger Reeves, Coya Paz, Eula Biss, and others for a conversation about art and resistance. 7:30 p.m., free.
