Wednesday 11/15: For their final reading of the year, the Hatchery series will present fiction and poetry by Erin J. Mullikin, Rafael Alvarez, Dawn Lonsinger, and an additional reader to be announced! 7 p.m. at The Monkey Club.
“Interfaces,” an exhibition of collage poems by Rachel Blau DuPlessis, is opening at the Brodsky Gallery, featuring an illustrated talk by DuPlessis on selected collage poems and a reading from her newly released book Days and Works! 6 p.m. at Kelly Writers House.
Thursday 11/16: Alex Vitale, author of The End of Policing, will guide a discussion with local activists about a variety of local struggles guided by abolitionist perspectives. 7 p.m. at Wooden Shoe Books and Records.
Friday 11/17: The opening reception for Little Berlin’s newest exhibition in their annex space will feature artwork by J. Pacoe, readings by Candy Alexandra, Raquel Salas Rivera, and Virginia Price, and a potluck dinner in the main gallery. 7 p.m. at Little Berlin.
Saturday 11/18: In the fifth of six Speech/Acts reading groups at the ICA, the discussion will center on The Cracks Between What We Are and What We Are Supposed to Be by Harryette Mullen. 1 p.m. at The Institute of Contemporary Art.
Sunday 11/19: Poet and translator Elliott batTzedek will lead a writing workshop focused on poetry manuscript development at 4 p.m. at Big Blue Marble Bookstore.
Monday 11/20: Elaine Terranova is the author of six poetry collections, most recently Dollhouse, and will be reading at 6 p.m. at Independence Branch Free Library.
