Thursday 2/28: The Reed College Visiting Writers Series welcomes Safiya Sinclair, author of Cannibal, to read from her latest work and discuss the craft of writing. Eliot Hall Chapel, 6:30 p.m., free.

Sunday 3/3: Each winter, the Spare Room Reading Series hosts a marathon reading of a long work, and this year the event will honor Bay Area poet Robert Duncan (1919–1988). Readers will include Sam Lohmann, Patrick Hartigan, Marilyn Stablein, Jesse Morse, Rodney Koeneke, Michael Weaver, James Yeary, Seann McCollum, Tom DeBeacuhamp, John Beer, Laura Feldman, Evan Corcoran, David Abel, and Chris Ashby.
