The War with Pigs and Dogs

•

The war between humans and pigs and dogs has been ongoing for many years. I don’t know when it started, but my father says it began almost hundreds of years ago for control and influence.

My father says that the pigs and dogs were once humans like us, brothers and sisters, fathers and sons, but they transformed because the evil within them was great, and they wanted more land, wealth, gold, and all the riches of heaven and earth, and did not want to share anything with their human brothers. So they decided to seize everything for themselves and eliminate humans.

They couldn’t do it alone, of course, so they contacted the devil for help, and we know that the devil wouldn’t miss the chance to eliminate humans or incite any conflict that would ultimately lead to that outcome.

So, one day, the wicked among humans gathered together and decided to ally with the devil in order to gain control over everything and become the dominant and powerful ones.

My father says that one of our ancient ancestors participated in that meeting, and that the ancestor later confessed that he had some evil within him. He harmed others and betrayed his friends for money, wishing for the downfall of others so he could enjoy their blessings. Therefore, he desired to join the new alliance to achieve the promised gains.

It is said that they prostrated in the desert, away from any creature, and chanted terrifying phrases like: “Devil of power and might, we are your followers, guide us on the path. We want everything, and nothing will stop us. We will do anything to claim it all.”

It wasn’t long before my grandfather saw the most hideous creature his eyes had ever beheld. It emerged from the depths of the earth with enormous black wings and a body that rivaled the height of skyscrapers, a blood-red body covered in blood. As for the head, it was a mixture of a dog’s head and a wild pig’s head.

The narrators did not confirm whether that creature was the devil himself or one of his followers answering the call of the wicked on his behalf, but in the end, he was standing before them with his towering height and ugly face.

The devil, of course, felt the terror that had seized the attendees, so in an instant, he transformed into a human form with human clothes, in the blink of an eye as they say, a handsome young man sitting among them, smiling calmly, but the look in his eyes was devilish, which he couldn’t hide.

The devil said calmly and without preamble: “If you want to seize the riches of heaven and earth, even the properties and rights of others, you must pay the price. You must prove that you are no less evil than me, that you are as vile as I am, and that you are not better than me. And once the price is paid and the proof is established, you will become like me in everything. All my power, abilities, and influence will transfer to you, and you will rule the earth with no one standing in your way. Your power will be extraordinary, your wealth immense, and you will enslave humanity, with none daring to stand against you. The entire earth will belong to you.”

Greed and malice gleamed in the eyes of the attendees; some wanted their brother’s possessions, others wanted to kill their fathers, brothers, and everyone else to enjoy the earth’s riches alone. So all the attendees said in unison: “Give us the orders, and we will execute them without discussion.”

The devil said with a calm smile and eyes coming from hell: “Kill the infants and children as a start, and then we will see.”

One of the attendees hesitated and said: “But it’s a heinous crime.”

The devil said: “If you want to eradicate humanity, you must kill the future.”

The throngs of evildoers moved to carry out the orders and commit the heinous crime. Among the crowds were the hesitant ones; killing children and infants is a monstrous crime even for evildoers like them. Some advanced with reluctance and were not driven by enthusiasm as the majority were, but in the end, they continued to move forward and crawl with the others.

They descended upon the houses, places of worship, hospitals, schools, and bakeries, searching for children and infants. They carried swords, knives, axes, and sharp weapons.

The massacre began quickly and ended quickly, and nothing stood in their way. Those who stood against them or defended the innocent children were killed as well. Swords severed the heads of children, unarmed men, and women alike. Abdomens were split open, limbs were amputated, and the bellies of pregnant women were cut open. All these crimes were committed in full view and hearing of everyone. To be fair, some of the evildoers could not commit these crimes and did not participate in the killing; they just stood by, watching the murders and slaughter in silence.

After the massacre ended, the roads and streets were filled with the bodies of men, women, and children. The wicked killers walked, admiring the scene with pride and arrogance, while some felt shame and disgrace for standing by as spectators and not retracting their devilish alliance. Their consciences did not awaken; instead, they preferred to continue in the alliance, hoping for the gains it would bring them, but they did not dare to participate in the killing.

The hordes of evildoers returned to the desert, their bodies covered in blood and entrails. They prostrated as they had the first time, but this time the devil awaited them in his grotesque demonic form.

The devil smiled proudly at his sons and followers and said: “Humanity will not rise again after what has happened for decades. We have destroyed their present and future, and those who remain today are consumed by fear and terror of meeting the same fate. Humans will be your slaves for many years, and the entire earth will belong to you. But…”

The devil paused for a moment, his smile fading, and said: “Humans will not remain silent forever. Fear and terror will not possess them forever. They will think of resistance and will try to do so. They will want to reclaim their rights and possessions, they will want to regain their freedom—they will want to take revenge and avenge what happened today. New generations will certainly come and they will have children. Among them will be those who did not witness this massacre but heard about it, and they will want to challenge and fight. Then the war will begin, and it will be fiercer and you will prepare for it, and with my help, I will ensure your superiority in everything. They will not have physical strength like yours, but their strength will be within them, so we must destroy it before it grows.”

Then he spread his massive wings over the prostrators, turning some into pigs and others into dogs. He said: “Those who kill today and shed blood deserve absolute power and authority. They may not have a beautiful form, a clean body, or a pleasant scent, but they will be strong pigs. I will equip each pig with wings to fly, and under each wing, there will be a stockpile of fiery hell stones, which we will throw at humans day and night. Each of you will have arms that are cannons, firing tongues of flame and bullets to burn humans. Each of you pigs will be a moving killing machine, but in the end, you will be made of flesh and blood. It will be susceptible to injury, bleeding, and death, so you must always be cautious and careful. I guarantee you power and superiority, but I do not guarantee you eternal life or escape from death when its time comes.”

Then he turned to the dogs, smiled with mockery and contempt, and said: “As for you, you do not deserve absolute power. You will remain subservient to the pigs, obeying orders, or else the fate of the humans will be your fate. You hesitated to carry out the orders and did not participate in the killing and slaughter. There are remnants of humanity within you, some mercy and some compassion, but you are not humans either. You witnessed the slaughter and stood by as spectators, so you became dogs. You are neither humans nor pigs, wavering between the two. I will not grant you any power or abilities; you will be as weak as humans, but your task is to assist the pigs in victory, even if it is just by watching from afar without intervening.”

Many years passed, and the pigs continued to carry out periodic attacks on the masses of humans. They would fly in the sky and then drop Hellfire bombs and Hellfire missiles on homes, hospitals, schools, and places of worship. They would fly at low altitudes, chasing women, children, and unarmed men, and then drop Hellfire bombs on them, burning them and turning them to ash.

The pigs took control of the land, sky, land, and sea, and the devil equipped them with marine engines that enabled them to dive and attack humans from the sea.

The bounties of the land and sea fell into the hands of the pigs; they took control of the crops, farms, lands, and seas, and life became hell for humans.

Life became impossible for humans; they were an easy and exposed target for the attacks of wild, marine, and aerial pigs. They could neither cultivate the land, hunt animals, nor raise a child. Whenever they approached the sea to catch some fish, the pigs would rise from the depths of the sea to its surface, directing the cannons mounted on their arms toward the humans, unleashing flames and bullets toward the starving humans.

The pig attacks primarily targeted children and infants. Whenever a human was blessed with a newborn, the flying pigs would raid the area, dropping bombs and missiles to destroy homes on the heads of their inhabitants and disrupt everyone’s lives.

Humans realized they were facing the danger of extinction, either by starvation or by killing, and they had to think of a solution to protect themselves from the wild pigs of land, sea, and air.

Humans began digging trenches beneath the demolished houses at night; the pigs were not active during the night, and that was the right time to work.

Digging continued every night until dawn, with men, women, and children contributing to the effort. The trenches were their only means of protection from the firebombs and pig cannons, even if only temporarily.

Many people fell during the digging due to the continuous hard work, but there was no other way.

Over time, humans began to choose the right time to search for food, edible plants, or animals to hunt and then store them inside the trenches. Night was the time when the pigs’ activity decreased.

As soon as darkness fell, the humans emerged from the trenches and rushed swiftly and silently to the food sources. They divided themselves into groups: one group headed toward the dense forests to search for bird and animal nests to hunt, and another group toward the sea to catch fish.

After some thought, they decided that the trenches should be close to these areas, the forest areas and near the sea at the same time.

The pigs noticed the disappearance of humans during the day and discovered the locations of the trenches near the sea, despite the humans’ efforts to hide them. The pigs began to attack the trenches fiercely, throwing firebombs at them, destroying and burning everything inside.

Humans fled to the dense forest areas where the other trenches were, and behind them, the pigs circled, their evil laughter filling the sky. It was a race against time for the unarmed humans, running desperately toward safer areas, or so they thought.

Many were killed while running; most people were not fast enough, and they were surrounded by flames coming from the pigs in the sea and air. Bullets, bombs, shells, and missiles rained down on the masses of people from all directions, and many children and women were burned. One man was close to reaching the forest area when a bomb fell on him from the air, burning him while he continued to run. He was like a burning ball speeding toward the finish line. His screams of pain mixed with the laughter of the flying pigs in the air, and his screams stopped when he died, and he stopped running, falling to the ground as a burning corpse.

The remaining humans managed to reach the dense forest area, and the flying pigs couldn’t follow them. They dropped bombs on the entire forest area to burn it along with its inhabitants.

Humans tried to take shelter but the fire spread like lightning, engulfing the trees and grass, forming a suffocating siege on the humans in the middle.

Men and women embraced their children and little ones. They wept, pleaded, and screamed, begging for rescue and mercy. All of them fell prostrate amid the flames, praying to God to save them. They placed their children beneath their bodies as they bowed, imploring God to stop the fire from advancing toward them.

At that very moment, heavy rain poured down—rain powerful enough to extinguish the flames and drown the forests and all within them. Yet it extinguished only the fire. It descended from the sky like the flood of Noah, striking the flames with a single blow and putting them out instantly.

Rage seized the pigs, who for the first time found themselves powerless, facing a force stronger than the power of the devil that supported them.

The pigs retreated and returned to the lands and territories they had seized. The humans, meanwhile, embraced one another, smiling in relief as raindrops streamed over their heads and clung to their faces.

It was unbelievable—how had they escaped the flames that had nearly devoured their bodies and reduced them to memory?

They looked to the sky in gratitude as the rain continued to fall. Suddenly, a brilliant light flashed, forcing them to cover their eyes and turn away. The light dimmed, and when they looked again, they saw white wings beating in the sky—disappearing, then reappearing in full form: enormous birds whose vast bodies filled the heavens.

The birds circled above the dense forest while the humans watched in genuine terror. Then they began to descend slowly into the forest.

The people stepped back in fear as they watched the strange beings from the sky. But when the creatures landed before them on the forest floor, they were no longer strange beings—they were humans radiating light, clothed in white garments.

The light flooded the place so intensely that even the pigs saw it from within their distant fortresses.

The beings spoke to the humans in a single voice and a single tone:

“God has sent us to help you. Evil has reached its peak. You have endured much, suffered much, and lost much. You tried to escape, but there is no escape except through confrontation. The devil—and behind him the pigs and the dogs—will not cease attacking you until they annihilate you all. The next assault will come, and the devil will arm them with stronger weapons. He will not allow you to live in peace, even after defeating you. He will not be satisfied if you merely seek food and water while leaving him and the pigs and the dogs to seize your land, your freedom, and your destiny. They will return again. Dogs will watch from afar as you are being slaughtered, and no one will save you.

Therefore, you must offer one final sacrifice—one final confrontation to defeat the evil crouching upon this earth. You and your children. There is no escape from battle. Cast aside surrender. Do not sacrifice yourselves for food and water—sacrifice yourselves to defeat evil, to avenge those who have fallen among you, and for the future of your children.”

One of the children wiped his eyes from the blinding light and asked, “What can we do?”

The beings replied:

“We will dig for you a fully constructed and fortified tunnel beneath the earth, stretching from here to the heart of the pigs’ fortress. They will not be able to use their air weapons while you are inside the tunnel. But once you emerge from it, you will be exposed to their artillery fire, and perhaps death. And this is your final sacrifice. Get as close to them as possible and kill them with swords and axes, just as they did to you. Move toward them quickly. Be faster than they are so that the cannons mounted on their arms cannot strike you.”

Then he extended the arm that had only moments ago been a white wing and handed one of the children a sword radiating light.

“Search for the throne of the Devil and plunge your swords into it. When you do, everything will end.”

The people gazed in astonishment at the glowing swords in their hands. One of them asked, “Is it necessary for our children to take part in this battle?”

The beings replied, “It is an existential battle. Everyone must take part.”

They directed a beam of light toward the forest floor. The beam split the earth open, carving a vast tunnel stretching from beneath the sea to the pigs’ fortress.

“Remember,” the beings said in one voice, “do not fear and do not retreat. The swords of light in your hands can defeat the weapons of Hell. All you need is courage and faith.”

They motioned for the people to enter the tunnel. Anxiety and fear spread across their faces. Many hesitated, their hands trembling on the hilts of their swords.

With reluctant steps, they entered.

The tunnel was dark, but their luminous swords lit its walls. Many of them considered turning back. Terror gripped them at the thought of facing the Devil and the pigs face to face. But what was the alternative? To sit in the open, waiting for another raid from the flying pigs and the bombs of Hell? The beings had saved them from total annihilation—but perhaps they would not intervene again, especially if they chose surrender over confrontation.

They moved deeper into the tunnel, the sound of rain above mingling with the crashing waves of the sea. At last, they reached the exit on the other side. When they looked back, the entrance seemed impossibly far away—as if years had passed. How had they walked so far without feeling it? And how would they face the horror awaiting them outside?

They turned forward and stepped out.

When they emerged, the Devil’s banners and symbols were everywhere. Pigs flew in the air; others marched on the ground. Dogs circled them, barking, fawning, brushing against them.

The fortress had once been a castle built by humans thousands of years ago. Now it was the seat of the pigs’ rule.

Darkness covered the place, broken only by the glow of the swords in their hands. The humans became moving points of light in the blackness—light of good in the darkness of evil.

They remembered their objective: to plunge one of the glowing swords into the Devil’s throne inside the fortress. Surely the throne would be at the top of the castle.

They hid behind the rocks surrounding the fortress while pigs and dogs guarded the entrances and exits.

One of the ground pigs spotted the glowing swords behind the rocks. He approached cautiously, cannons aimed and ready.

One of the humans gathered his courage, leapt from behind the rocks with his radiant sword raised, and lunged at the pig. The pig shrieked in terror and fired wildly, unleashing a torrent of bullets and tongues of flame.

The bullets and flames struck the man’s body, setting him ablaze. Yet he pressed forward with desperate resolve until he plunged his sword into the pig’s heart. Their bodies collided, both consumed by fire, and they fell together, lifeless.

The battle erupted instantly.

The pigs attacked the masses of humans behind the rocks, raining down firebombs and hellish rockets.

The humans ran toward the fortress—young and old, women and children, men and elders—charging with glowing swords raised as bombs fell from the sky, striking some of them down.

Many were killed and burned, but the rest continued running until they reached the gates. They fell upon the ground pigs with their swords—severing heads, cutting off arms and legs. The children joined the fight. Despite their small stature, they struck at the pigs’ legs while the adults beheaded them.

Bombs and rockets rained from the sky, burning humans and pigs alike. Yet some children and adults managed to enter the fortress.

“Upward! Do not stop!” one of the humans shouted fiercely.

Gunfire and flames poured down upon them, but they did not stop. They met the fire with their bare chests, raising their luminous swords as they climbed the stairs, children behind them.

The adults absorbed waves of bullets and flames, shielding the smaller ones. Their small size helped the children avoid direct hits as the adults, bleeding and burning, fought fiercely—swinging their swords left and right, severing heads, cutting arms, piercing hearts.

Several children fell, burned beside their fathers and mothers, their bodies lying among those of the pigs. But many children succeeded in reaching the top of the fortress—where the Devil’s throne stood.

One child raised his glowing sword and saw the Devil seated upon the throne in his hideous, demonic form. The child trembled with fear, dropped the sword, and stepped back.

Another child seized his sword and ran toward the throne without hesitation, ignoring the Devil seated upon it. With all his strength, he drove the sword deep into the infernal throne.

The earth shook beneath them.

The Devil’s features twisted into furious rage and terror. Flames engulfed him. He screamed—a scream that instantly killed all the pigs and dogs. They fell where they stood, charred and lifeless. Those flying in the sky plummeted like heavy stones, burning as they fell.

The Devil’s scream continued for moments. He burned, then vanished—ceasing to exist.

The children began descending the fortress stairs. Burned bodies lay everywhere—humans and pigs alike. The glowing swords lay scattered on the ground, shining brighter than before.

The rain, which had poured for hours, finally ceased. The sun rose, bathing the earth in innocent morning light after years of suffocating darkness.

The Devil’s banner still fluttered. A child approached and tore it down. He cast it aside and planted his glowing sword in its place.

The battle was over.

But the war was not.

The evil among humans would return. And with it, the Devil.

Ready and waiting.
