Rae Gouirand’s first collection of poetry, Open Winter, was selected by Elaine Equi for the Bellday Prize and won an Independent Publisher Book Award and the Eric Hoffer Book Award. Her new work has appeared most recently in American Poetry Review, ZYZZYVA, The California Journal of Poetics, VOLT, The Brooklyner, The Fanzine, and in a Distinguished Poet feature for The Inflectionist Review.  (allonehum.wordpress.com)

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds. Our mostly volunteer-run magazine strives to be a platform for risk-taking voices and writing that might not find a home elsewhere.
