You might want to wait on the back slaps for Verizon. The reason they’re appealing the FCC’s regulations is because the FCC is focusing on mandating an open internet based on net neutrality principles.
Verizon actually supported this regulation as recently as a year ago, until they realized that shunting consumer traffic to their own content models at the expense of their competitors’ was just to good to pass up.
