Monday, April 11th – Tonight! It’s your favorite day of the month (right?!?!)! The day when the Rumpus comes out to play…Join us for “A Friendly Gathering“ at the Make Out Room, 7pm, $10. With readings by David Goodwillie, Erika Recordon, Aryn Kyle and Matthew Dickman….music by The Yellow Dress…comedy by Nato Green! You can’t afford to miss it.
Tuesday, April 12th – It’s FREE CONE DAY! And then I’m gonna go to the gym. Really. Later though, head over to Sum Kind of Trouble Open Mic at Amnesia. Hosted by SF comedian and all-around hilarious dude, Rajeeeeeeeev. (sp?) Starts at 7pm.
Wednesday, April 13th – The Elbo Room hosts a bill packed with good-time, sunshiney-happy feelings: Chelsea TK and the Tzigane Society, The Parlour Suite, Starfish in the Clouds, Uni & Her Ukelele and DJ Neil Martinson (Smile) for only $7 – that comes out to less than $2/act. That’s a STEAL. The Parlous Suite’s “Worth Your Wait in Gold” will be on repeat at my day job desk, thank you very much. Show’s at 9pm.
Thursday, April 14th – Ellie Goulding plays a FREE show at Amoeba before her sold-out Rickshaw Stop show later in the evening. This girl goes from a sprite-like trill to a raspy moan like it’s nobody’s business, plus she’s purdy and her songs are freaking catchy. Show starts at 6:30pm – you’ll leave “Starry-Eyed” (See what I did there? No? Click on the link, dude.)
Friday, April 15th – Remember that crush you had in Junior High? Remember that EPIC poem you wrote about it? Want to read it to a bunch of strangers so they can laugh at you? No? Well, these guys do. Come laugh at them. Mortified returns to San Francisco – get ready to laugh hysterically, be moved to tears and hear some of the greatest pre-pubescent adventures ever scribbled with hearts dotting the i’s. Shows April 15th and 16th – Tickets.
Saturday, April 16th – Celebrate Developing Environments’ 40th Anniversary with Art, Chocolate, Spirit Boats (?!), Circus Acts AND a performance by Pamela Z. That’s a whole lotta celebrating for one of the oldest artist live-work communities in San Francisco. Here’s the Facebook event. Festivities begin at 6pm at 540 Alabama Street.
Sunday, April 17th – It’s Easter…apparently. Wag Hotels hosts their 2nd annual easter egg hunt…for dogs. Someone go and explain to me how this works. More importantly, SFJazz has some incredible shows all Spring including National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master Ellis Marsalis at the Herbst Theater, 7pm. Tickets.
