Steve Toutonghi reads from his second novel, Side Life, and is joined in conversation by his brother and fellow writer Pauls Toutonghi, author of Dog Gone. Powell’s City of Books, 7:30 p.m., free.

Saturday 6/23: In collaboration with Diné artist Kevin Holden and home school—a pop-up art school based in Portland—with support from black apotrope and the Douglas D. Cooley Memorial Art Gallery, Reed College is proud to present home school field day #2, a day-long festival of sound, music, performance, poetry, workshops, and video screenings, modeled after a school field day. Featuring poetry from Demian DinéYazhi´, Bart Fitzgerald, Janice Lee, and Julian Smuggles, along with performances from Maxi Miliano, manuel arturo abreu, N-Prolenta, and Keyon Faskin. Reed College, 2–8 p.m., free.

Sunday 6/24: VoiceCatcher launches their Spring 2018 issue with readings from contributors. Suggested donation of toiletry items for those in need is requested. Post 134, 3 p.m.

Home school and S1 present an integrated lecture and multimedia engagement by N-Prolenta. They will be in town in person from North Carolina to briefly contextualize and then present a scene from their upcoming book project, i was born in ww3. S1, 6 p.m., free.

Monday 6/25: Ana Maria Spagna reads from her latest collection, Uplake: Restless Essays of Coming and Going. Powell’s Books on Hawthorne, 7:30 p.m., free.

Malcolm Terence reads from his new book, Beginner’s Luck: Dispatches from the Klamath Mountains. Powell’s City of Books, 7:30 p.m., free.

Tuesday 6/26: Tessa Fontaine reads from her latest book, The Electric Woman: A Memoir in Death-Defying Acts. Powell’s City of Books, 7:30 p.m., free.
