Monday 9/2: The Non-Binary Book Club will discuss Life Isn’t Binary by Alex Iantaffi. Open to all identities but centering nonbinary experiences. Moon Palace Books, 7 p.m., free.

Tuesday 9/3: William Kent Krueger presents This Tender Land, a historical mystery set in Minnesota. Once Upon a Crime, 7 p.m., free.

Wednesday 9/4: SubText Books presents Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng as September’s Books & Bars feature. Dual Citizen Brewing Company, 6:30 p.m., free.

Dessa will be signing copies of her newest book, My Own Devices, at six Twin Cities bookstores in one day. From 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., free.

Thursday 9/5: University of Minnesota Libraries presents “Stamped & Posted,” a gallery talk celebrating mail art and its role in print culture. Elmer Andersen Library, 5:30 p.m., free (reservations required).

William D. Green presents The Children of Lincoln: White Paternalism and the Limits of Black Opportunity in Minnesota, 1860–1876. East Side Freedom Library, 7 p.m., free.

Friday 9/6: St. Paul Youth Poet Laureate Chavah Gabrielle presents their debut book Bodies I Am Willing to Worship. Black Dog Cafe, 7 p.m., free.

Saturday 9/7: Bao Phi presents his newest picture book My Footprints. Red Balloon Bookshop, 2 p.m., free.

And another thing: Submissions for Saint Paul Almanac’s annual print edition are open. All entries are judged by a panel of community editors reflecting the city’s diverse experiences and heritages.
